Airplane Day is a ONE Club event held annually at Foggy Bottom in February in Dexter to celebrate the life of Laurence Carolin and to continue his work in fighting against the absurdity of extreme poverty. It is called Airplane Day because it takes place on the day that Laurence arrived in the United States after getting adopted from South Korea. Laurence was an extraordinarily altruistic brain cancer patient who donated his make-a-wish money to the United Nations Foundation. He inspired the creation of the ONE Club at Dexter High School.

People that come to Airplane Day will be given an opportunity to make their own impact in the fight against poverty by buying beads made by women in Uganda, making phone calls to Congress, signing petitions, donating to the United Nations Foundation, winning ONE Club t-shirts, and most importantly, learning about how they can continue to help prevent extreme poverty and disease. It is a very special event unique to Dexter, Michigan. Bands play and people speak about the fight against poverty during the entire event. Make sure to come to Airplane 2015 this year!
